Coming Up saw Suede firing on all cylinders, with guitarist Richard Oakes and keyboardist Neil Codling firmly established in the line-up. The album topped the UK chart and produced five Top 10 singles: ‘Trash’, ‘Beautiful Ones’, ‘Saturday Night’, ‘Lazy’ and ‘Filmstar’. Across the record, glam-rock stomp, sweeping ballads and arena-sized pop collide in a brash, immediate set that remains a high point in the band’s catalogue.
