Supergrass – Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey and Rob Coombes – stand among the most significant British bands of the 1990s. Formed in Oxford in 1993, they went on to sell millions of records, achieving six top ten albums, ten top twenty singles, and winning Brit, Q, NME and Ivor Novello Awards. Their debut I Should Coco (1995) reached number one and earned a Mercury Prize nomination, with the single ‘Alright’ becoming a global hit.
The Strange Ones: 1994–2008 is the band’s definitive best-of, originally issued in 2020. It spans their entire career, from breakthrough singles to deeper favourites, with artwork by long-time collaborator Nick Bax under the band’s own art direction.
