Rejoice, for Bitchin Bajas' fantastic album of Sun Ra covers', Switched on Ra, is finally available on vinyl, a year after the cassette-only release. Seemingly channeling the legendary film electronic music composer Wendy Carlos, who created indelible scores for such films as as A Clockwork Orange and Tron, Bitchin Bajas used 19 different vintage keyboards to achieve the incredible feat of taking on such Ra classics as Space Is the Place', Moon Dance', and Opus in Springtime', in the process producing a classic in its own right.

Earlier this year the US trio of Cooper Crain (who is also guitarist/organist of the band Cave), Dan Quinlivan and Rob Frye released the terrific Bajascillators, an album that doubles down on Bitchin Bajas' greatness. In fact, the only impediment to wider recognition might be their misleading, slightly jokey name, which belies the reality that the group are one of the most exciting analogue-electronica outfits going right now.
