Originally released in Jamaica in 1968 as The Actions, with a UK issue credited to The Lyrics, ‘Music Like Dirt’ is a sought-after slice of rocksteady that has also circulated under The Splendors name. On the flip, all-girl group The Tonettes provide the irresistibly catchy ‘I’ll Give It To You’. Originals are seriously scarce, making this a welcome chance to hear two fine sides of late-’60s Jamaican music.
