The Lemonheads’ ‘Roky’ is Evan Dando’s tribute to 13th Floor Elevators legend Roky Erickson, taking on the songwriter’s turbulent story with a blazing guitar break from co-writer Nick Saloman of The Bevis Frond. Originally heard on Love Chant, the track is joined here by The Bevis Frond covering two Lemonheads songs: ‘The Great Big No’ and ‘My Drug Buddy’. There’s history between the bands too: The Lemonheads covered the Frond’s ‘Old Man Blank’ on 2019’s Varshons II.
