The classic Christmas duet Fairytale of New York by The Pogues returns in EP form, built around imagery inspired by its original music video. Alongside the familiar studio recording, the release features an instrumental version and a live take of ‘Dirty Old Town’ captured at Glasgow Barrowland in December 1987.
The centrepiece is a previously unheard recording of Fairytale of New York from the same 1987 Glasgow show — the first time The Pogues performed the song on stage. This historic version also marks Kirsty MacColl’s live debut with the band and arrives newly mixed with additional production from original producer Steve Lillywhite.
