Víkingur Ólafsson extends his fascination with J.S. Bach on Continuum II, the second instalment in his ongoing project devoted to the composer. Original keyboard pieces sit alongside transcriptions and Ólafsson’s own arrangements, drawing out the more intimate and reflective qualities of Bach’s music. Recorded entirely at Ólafsson’s home studio, The Nutshell, in Iceland, the album mixes familiar pieces with lesser-known works, adding another chapter to the pianist’s long-running engagement with Bach.
