Walter Bishop Jr. stood out among his peers, not just for being a tasteful jazz pianist, but for recording albums comprised entirely of original material. Coral Keys was his fourth album, but first for the Black Jazz label, released in 1971. His band featured bassist Reggie Jackson, Idris Muhammad on drums, trumpeter Woody Shaw and sax & flute player Harold Vick.
