Westside Cowboy — Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell, and Paddy Murphy — follow their acclaimed debut EP This Better Be Something Great with the dynamic So Much Country ‘Till We Get There. The first glimpse arrives in the form of ‘Don’t Throw Rocks’, a taut and urgent single that captures the band’s mix of nervous energy and open-hearted intensity.
Driven by quick, anxious percussion and gleaming guitar tones, the track hurtles forward with the sense that everything might fall apart at any second. Lyrically, it explores time and change — how both move beyond our control — while musically, each section builds pressure until it finally bursts into release. The band describe it as “adding a new gear with each shift, until it couldn’t be held onto anymore.”
The EP also features ‘Strange Taxidermy’, ‘Can’t See’, ‘The Wahs’, and ‘In The Morning’ — five songs that expand the group’s distinct brand of spirited, off-kilter indie rock.
