Yannis & The Yaw follow their acclaimed Lagos Paris London EP with Onstage, a 6-track live album recorded at sold-out shows in Paris and Amsterdam. Led by Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis, the group includes key EP collaborators Vincent Taurelle (keys) and Vincent Taeger (drums), along with Dave Okumu (The Invisible), Seye Adelekan (Gorillaz), and visual artist Kit Monteith.
Onstage captures the loose, exploratory energy of their Afrobeat-inspired jams, paying tribute to the late Tony Allen with a vibrant cover of his 1979 classic ‘Afrodisco Beat’. The set also features the previously unreleased composition ‘3’, expanding on the EP’s fusion of old-school rhythm and forward-thinking arrangement.
